Job summary

Kraton is hiring for an operations-focused role in Belpre, Ohio. The selected candidate will assist with large purchase orders, negotiate items, and support category managers to ensure continuous production. Prior SAP purchasing experience and a BS/BA in a related field are preferred.

Earnest teamwork and a commitment to policy adherence will be essential, as will strong vendor evaluation skills to maintain materials flow across Kraton’s facilities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in supply chain management, purchasing or commercial coordination.
• Strong negotiating and communication abilities.
• Experience with SAP purchasing procedures.
• Ability to mentor or train other purchase agents.
• BS/BA preferred in supply chain or business.

Responsibilities

• Assist in placing large purchase orders and negotiate smaller items.
• Support Category Managers to secure goods at best value.
• Adhere to purchasing policies and procedures.
• Execute purchasing strategies defined by Purchasing Management.
• Collaborate with buyers and agents; understand Kraton’s domestic facilities.
• Evaluate vendor reliability and follow up on issues with purchases.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the placement of large purchase orders or in purchasing larger items, and own responsibility for negotiating purchase of smaller items.
• Support Category Managers in securing goods and services at best value to ensure the continuous operation of production facilities.
• Responsible for adherence to Purchasing policies and procedures.
• Executes buying strategies as defined by Purchasing Management.
• Partners with buyers and agents, as necessary.
• This requires working knowledge of all of the Kraton domestic production facilities.
• Evaluate vendor reliability and follows up on any problems regarding the use of purchased items.

Required Skills

Education, Certifications & Licenses

• High School diploma, required
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business (preferred)
