Overview

Couturier Iron Craft, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Manager. This role is responsible for all purchasing functions involved in metal fabrication, including sourcing steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass and glass, as well as outsourcing for powder coating, painting, laser cutting, machining, fasteners, fabrication supplies, welding and abrasive supplies, general building needs, equipment maintenance and inventory control. Base pay range is $52,000.00/yr - $63,000.00/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Responsibilities
  • Source and purchase materials used in the daily operations of fabrication of decorative and miscellaneous metals.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability while striving for efficient inventory management.
  • Read and interpret metal fabrication/construction blueprints to generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Manage 50+ vendors to source materials effectively.
  • Evaluate vendors for cost, lead time and reliability to optimize sourcing.
  • Create and manage manual and computerized processes related to sourcing and materials management.
  • Provide support and partnership with Estimating/Project management for bidding, cost estimation and submittals.
  • Ensure engagement and two-way communication with the entire team.
  • Identify cost-effective delivery methods for sourced materials.
  • Analyze internal and external information such as market trends, supplier capabilities, specifications data and customer requirements to inform long-term purchasing decisions.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience and knowledge of metals, shapes and alloys.
  • Prior experience in the miscellaneous and decorative metal/steel industry.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree desired; Certified Purchasing Professional a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel & Outlook).
  • Prior experience with office procedures.

Physical Demands And Work Environment
  • Work in a normal office setting and on a metals fabrication shop floor. Exposure to moderately loud noises and working near moving equipment in a fabrication environment.
