Job summary

S&C Electric Company is hiring a Machinist to manufacture precision components for S&C products in a production setting. You will read blueprints, set up and operate Punch Press machines, and ensure parts meet specifications. The role requires steady attention to detail, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

In this position you will work a 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM shift with potential overtime. Compensation includes hourly pay and eligibility for an annual incentive bonus based on

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with operation of manual and computer-controlled machinery.
• 2+ years' Die-Set up experience.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Knowledge of machine controls and programs.
• Basic math skills for quantities, weights, and measurements.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and Punch Press machines to fabricate parts.
• Die-set up on machines with necessary materials.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to meet requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools.
• Use overhead crane and material handling equipment safely.
• Complete first-piece inspection using measurement tools.
• Maintain records of fabrication and corrective actions.
• Deburr parts and ensure readiness for processing.
• Meet department targets and uphold quality and safety standards.
• Follow company policies.
