Granite Construction is hiring an entry-level Pump Tech to support water pump installation and routine mechanical work at pumping sites. The role involves outdoor work, operating equipment, and assisting with installation and repair tasks. CDL Class A or B is required, along with a high school diploma or GED.

You will work in a team setting, comply with safety procedures, and contribute to project success while occasionally traveling away from home for up to two weeks.

Responsabilidades

  • Assist with water pump installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Lift and move components up to 50 lbs; assist with heavier lifts.
  • Operate service trucks and equipment to support pumping sites.
  • Maintain logs and documentation for safety and operations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair of pumps to minimize downtime.
  • Load/unload materials and transport equipment between sites.
  • Travel away from home for up to 2 weeks as needed.

General Summary

The Pump Tech is an entry level role primarily responsible for assisting with water pump installation tasks and performing routine mechanical work on large water well pumps.

Essential Job Accountabilities
  • Ensure adherence to all safety and quality procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
  • Lift and move pipe and pump components weighing up to 50 lbs., and assist with lifting components up to 100 lbs. to support operational needs
  • Operate and maintain service trucks, cranes, boom trucks, generators, engines, pumps, and other equipment used on water pumping sites to ensure reliable and efficient operation
  • Collaborate with the crew and work independently to accomplish tasks to achieve project goals and deadlines
  • Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and other required paperwork to ensure proper documentation and accountability
  • Assist in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of water pumps to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Load and unload trucks with equipment and materials to facilitate smooth logistics and operations
  • Transport equipment between sites and set up for jobs to ensure timely and efficient project execution
  • Collect and accurately label water samples for analysis to ensure precise and reliable data collection
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall team objectives and project success
Education
  • High school diploma or GED
Work Experience
  • Construction site experience or similar outdoor industry experience preferred
CDL License
  • CDL license - Class A or B, is REQUIRED
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Able to work in small teams successfully
  • Must be mechanically inclined, experience with hydraulic pumps a plus
  • Must be dependable and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to stand for 10-12-hour shifts

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a small hand tools. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push/pull up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
