Job summary

HDR, Inc. in California seeks a Pump Stations and Pipelines (PSPL) Team Lead to provide technical leadership on water infrastructure projects, including pipelines and pumping stations, with rehab and replacement design experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team within the PSPL Business Class.
  • Manage workload and adjust staff assignments as needed to deliver quality products.
  • Provide oversight and mentorship on projects.
  • Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel.
  • Support hiring initiatives for the PSPL Business Class.
  • Assist with administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections.
  • Implement, monitor and support company policy.
  • Support project management activities including planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of mid-sized and large pump station and pipeline projects.
  • Lead engineering/process design, project coordination, determining and writing engineering specifications, planning work, establishing appropriate design methods, report preparation and coordination, equipment sizing and selection and working directly with the owners and clients.
  • Involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently.
  • Participate in business development, including client interaction, proposal development, and participation in professional societies.
  • Support implementing QA/QC procedures, and for the execution of training for personnel as established by BC leadership.
  • Mentor local project staff that are less experienced Project Managers to help develop their professional growth.
  • Be active in the recruitment and hiring
  • Perform other duties as needed.

The Pumpstation and Pipeline (PSPL) Team Lead will provide technical support for a broad range of projects, which may include: DW/WW/STMW pipelines and pumping stations planning, design (rehab and replacement), ESDC.

In the role we'll count on you to:

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Civil or related Engineering discipline
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Project management experience leading the planning and design of drinking water/wastewater/stormwater pipeline and pumping station projects. Experience working with multi-discipline teams to complete contract drawings, specifications, and engineering estimates for water utility projects.
  • Technical experience with design (rehab and replacement) and construction of water, wastewater, and stormwater pipeline and pumping stations in California.
  • Technical experience with condition assessment of water, wastewater, and stormwater pipelines and pumping stations.
