Job summary

The City of Caldwell is seeking an intermediate-level Pump and Distribution Operator to maintain the pressurized irrigation and potable water systems. Work is outdoors, with supervision and adherence to safety procedures in all conditions.

Responsibilities include operating PI pump stations, performing maintenance and minor repairs, and participating in standby rotations. Must hold a CDL Tanker endorsement and Idaho water licenses, with the ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED.
• Minimum of two years' experience in irrigation, water distribution, or related utility work.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust PI pump stations to maintain system pressure and flow.
• Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on pumps, valves, motors, and electrical components.
• Assists with small construction or projects for PI and potable systems.
• Conducts seasonal startup and shutdown procedures, including flushing and pressure testing.
• Collects potable water samples and prepares documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Investigates customer complaints related to PI service, water pressure, and system performance.
