Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Pulp Mill Assistant Superintendent in Valdosta, GA to lead safety-conscious operations and maximize plant performance across boilers, evaporators, turbines, and wastewater systems. The role focuses on capital planning, budget control, staff development, and ensuring quality and cost-effective service for internal and external customers.

Candidates should have an engineering degree, 5–10 years in the pulp and paper environment, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience required.
• 5–10 years of related experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and AutoCAD.
• Successful completion of drug screening is required, as well as authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and efficient operation of the pulp mill facilities.
• Drive capital planning and operating budgets with management.
• Develop and mentor staff; maintain asset care and process improvements.
• Manage outages using MS Project and coordinate maintenance replacements.
• Oversee contractors and ensure cost-effective execution of projects.
• Ensure products/services meet customer expectations and maintain safety standards.
