Job summary

Griffin Hospital, a community acute care facility, seeks a full-time Medical Assistant in Pulmonology to support clinics and procedural areas. You will prepare exam rooms, document patient history, take vitals, and assist physicians with office procedures.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma or GED, and experience with electronic medical records; a Medical Assistant diploma is preferred. Strong customer service and multitasking skills are essential.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience in a surgical office strongly preferred.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is required.

Responsibilities

Fulfills patient care responsibilities: organize patient flow, prepare exam rooms, escort patients.
Documents patient history, charting, collects specimens, relays instructions to patients and assists as needed.
Performs patient screening, takes vitals, notes history, and assists physician with exams.
Assists office coordinator with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and other admin duties.
Maintains and updates patient medical records, handles referrals and prior authorizations.
Maintains inventory of clinical equipment and supplies; orders and restocks.
Obtains prior authorizations and books surgeries as needed.
