Job summary

Frederick Health Medical Group (FHMG) is seeking a pulmonologist to join a growing program offering outpatient and inpatient pulmonary care. The role emphasizes collaboration with PCPs, hospitalists, and specialists within a physician-led health system in Maryland.

The position provides access to advanced diagnostics, a supportive team, and a patient-centered model designed for career longevity and work-life balance in a community near Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board-Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine.
• Active Maryland physician medical license (or ability to obtain).
• Current DEA license and Maryland CDS license.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent).
• Unrestricted medical license with no history of suspension or revocation.
• Eligible for participation with all payers.

Responsibilities

• Develop efficient workflows and close relationships with referrals and community partners to grow the Incidental Nodule and Lung Cancer Screening Programs.
• Proficient and Experienced in Robotic Bronchoscopy, Endobronchial Ultrasound and ultrasound-guided thoracentesis and chest tube placement.
• Interpret diagnostic testing, including laboratory studies, imaging, pulmonary function tests.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of pulmonary disorders including COPD and asthma.
• Educate patients on diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle changes.
• Collaborate with primary care, specialists, and multidisciplinary care teams for coordinated care.
• Document high-quality, compliant clinical notes in the EMR and support clinic access and throughput.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives (e.g., lung cancer screening rates, timeliness to diagnosis).
• Participate in practice call coverage and meetings as required.
