Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Pulmonary Technologist to measure, analyze, and record pulmonary function procedures and perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing for patients in various care settings. You will work under the direction of a physician and the laboratory coordinator, serving as a go-to resource in the Pulmonary Laboratory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with certificate in respiratory therapy OR Associate's degree in respiratory therapy OR Bachelor's degree in health science or biology required.
• One year (12 months) experience in a pulmonary function lab, preferably in an academic/research environment.
• CPR (BLS) certification required.
• Credentialing through the N.B.R.C. as a respiratory care practitioner or pulmonary function technologist required (certification and/or registry). Must maintain certification throughout employment. If not credentialed, must become credentialed within 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Measure, analyze, and record pulmonary function procedures.
• Perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing for patients.
• Work under the direction of a physician and laboratory coordinator/manager.
• Train new employees and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Help ensure adherence to Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
• Participate in educational and clinical programs and quality improvement initiatives.
• Attend continuing education seminars to stay current in the field.
