This is an excellent opportunity for an RT who wants to do more than provide treatments. The Pulmonary Program Manager will have the opportunity to build relationships with residents, collaborate closely with nursing and medical providers, participate in interdisciplinary care planning, monitor clinical outcomes, and help shape a pulmonary program that supports quality care and positive resident outcomes.

We believe the best care comes from a team that communicates, supports one another, and takes pride in the work they do. Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about respiratory care, enjoys working collaboratively, is comfortable taking initiative, and wants to be an active part of a positive and supportive skilled nursing environment.

This position offers the opportunity to use your clinical experience while also developing your leadership, program management, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility's Pulmonary Program in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and facility policies.

  • Work closely with nursing and other clinical staff to support the appropriate implementation of pulmonary interventions.

  • Evaluate residents participating in the Pulmonary Program and monitor their progress and response to interventions.

  • Review pulmonary-related orders and resident participation on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

  • Bring relevant resident outcomes, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to morning meetings and interdisciplinary discussions.

  • Establish individualized goals and determine appropriate program duration in collaboration with medical providers, residents, and responsible parties.

  • Participate in the interdisciplinary care planning process and contribute to individualized resident goals and interventions.

  • Review resident records to ensure participants meet appropriate clinical and diagnostic criteria for the program.

  • Monitor program outcomes and provide routine reports and recommendations to facility leadership and/or the governing body.

  • Develop and maintain processes for the appropriate cleaning, maintenance, and storage of respiratory equipment.

  • Participate in the monthly Triple Check process.

  • Identify opportunities to improve respiratory care practices, resident outcomes, and overall program effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with nursing leadership and other departments to promote continuity of care and effective communication.

  • Assist with staff education, competency development, and ongoing support related to pulmonary care and respiratory interventions.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and Human Resources regarding department staffing, recruitment, employee performance, and professional development.

  • Promote teamwork, mutual respect, positive communication, and a culture of accountability and problem-solving.

  • Stay current with developments in respiratory care, skilled nursing regulations, pulmonary services, and other areas affecting long-term care.

  • Promote safe work practices and compliance with infection prevention and safety standards.
