Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support RNs and deliver compassionate, hands-on care. You will assist with vital signs, mobility, and daily activities while helping maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

You will partner with RNs to monitor conditions, perform non-medicated care, assist with transfers and mobility, and help maintain clean, stocked patient areas to support safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
