The MedElite Group is seeking a compassionate Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Roanoke, VA, with a competitive salary of $150,000 - $200,000. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive care for patients with respiratory conditions, working in a supportive environment dedicated to compassionate care.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and educate patients on managing their health. A Master's in Nursing and an active license are required, along with a passion for making a difference in patients’ lives.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license mandatory.
• DEA License and CPR BCLS/BLS certification required.
• Must have great organizational and time management skills.
• Experience in Pulmonology or respiratory care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical assessments of pulmonary patients.
• Diagnose and treat respiratory illnesses such as asthma and pneumonia.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Educate patients on disease management and lifestyle modifications.
• Perform diagnostic procedures including spirometry and chest X-rays.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

Skills

Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility

Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds

Education

Master's Degree in Nursing

Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and compassionate Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Pulmonology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients with respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and other pulmonary disorders. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical assessments and medical screenings of patients with pulmonary conditions.
• Diagnose and treat common respiratory illnesses, including asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, considering their medical history, current symptoms, and lifestyle factors.
• Prescribe medications and therapies, such as inhalers, antibiotics, and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.
• Educate patients and their families on the importance of proper disease management, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
• Perform diagnostic procedures, such as spirometry, chest X-rays, and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

Requirements

• Preferred experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
• DEA License
• CPR BCLS/BLS certified
• Must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing
• Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Local Travel 100% Required
• Experience in Pulmonology or respiratory care
• Preferred experience in Documenting EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.): training provided
• Must have great organizational and time management skills.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand / walk / work on your feet up to 6-8 hours per day
