Job summary

U.S. Army 3rd Medical Recruiting Battalion seeks a pulmonology/critical care physician to serve Soldiers and their families in Army Medicine. You will diagnose and treat respiratory diseases and provide ICU care, while contributing to medical research and advancing patient care.

This role supports both active duty and Army Reserve commitments in a dynamic, mission-focused environment. The position requires an MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school, a current U.S.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school.
  • Must have a current, valid medical license to practice in the United States.
  • Board eligibility and successful completion of required GME internship are required.
  • Must be appointed as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Reserve and be a permanent resident.

Responsibilities

  • Treat Soldiers and their families with respiratory ailments.
  • Assess, recommend and provide treatment in intensive care units.
  • Engage in studying patients and researching new treatment possibilities.

Job description

As a physician in the U.S. Army, you will treat Soldiers and their families with respiratory ailments, assess, recommend, and provide treatment and therapy to patients in intensive care units. You'll also have the opportunity to advance the medical field by studying patients and researching new treatment possibilities. And if you choose to serve in the Army Reserve, you will be able to serve your country when called upon while still supporting your community.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy
  • Foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
  • Must have a current, valid, active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia, or U.S. territory
  • Must be eligible for board certification
  • Must have completed at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship
  • Must be able to meet the criteria to be appointed as a commissioned officer in the US Army Reserve
  • Must be a permanent resident of the United States
