Job description

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for working with artist management on joint publicity opportunities to promote the company’s brand and image utilizing all forms of communication.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Acts as liaison between media, artist management and organizational representatives
  • Develops and maintains strong contacts in all areas of communication and media
  • Implements interactive Public Relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image
  • Observes progress in interactive Public Relations and continuously develops new ways of harnessing the power of advocacy utilizing every element of building relationships while maintain the significance of the spoken word
  • Conducts media relations between media, artist management and organizational representatives
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implements promotional activities and special events
  • Manages media requests including interviews, reviewer access, photography and videos
  • Manages ticket blocks utilizing approved process
  • Accompanies artists and/or company representatives, as needed
  • Researches publicity media contacts and blogger outreach
  • Writes and disseminates press releases, entertainment calendars and other notifications while utilizing SEO practices
  • Develops and pitches relevant angles of interest to media through traditional media outreach and social platforms
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelors’ Degree in a Communications or a related field
  • Two years of work experience in public relations
  • Knowledge of Web 2.0 concepts, techniques and trends
  • In lieu of a Degree and previously mentioned experience, five years of experience in public relations may be considered
Competencies:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Displays creativity, initiative and good judgment with decision-making, problem-solving and research skills
  • Self motivated with ability to work among teams
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective personal relationships with supervisory and professional staff members and internal client contacts
  • Strong presence in integrated collaboration between public relations, internet marketing, advertising and social media marketing
Training Requirements:
  • Knowledge of administrative abilities related to WordPress
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Office work environment
  • Must be on-call and reachable through a company issued cell phone
  • Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
