Job summary

New Jersey State League of Municipalities in New Jersey is seeking a full-time employee to maintain public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, shared use paths, bikeways, and storm sewer systems, and to operate light maintenance equipment.

The role includes winter maintenance on walkways and steps, vehicle maintenance, pothole repair, leaf collection participation, storm water system work, street sign installation, pavement markings, and vegetation control along rights of way.

Responsibilities

• Maintain public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, shared use paths, bikeways, and storm sewer inlets, treatment facilities, and piping.
• Operate air compressors and related attachments, concrete mixers, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and other light equipment.
• Perform winter maintenance operations on walkways and building steps.
• Perform basic truck cleaning and maintenance.
• Repair potholes and pavement.
• Participate in the annual leaf, branch and log collection program.
• Assist in maintenance and construction of the storm water collection system.
• Install and maintain streets and traffic signs/posts.
• Paint pavement markings.
• Cut grass and vegetation around guardrails, roadsides, and other municipally owned properties including open space.
