Job summary

The Town of Natick’s Public Works Department is seeking a Skilled Laborer/Collector for highway/sanitation. The role involves curbside trash and recycling collection, operating multiple light and heavy equipment, and performing physical labor in roadway maintenance.

This entry-level position offers CDL training, supervision by a foreman, and growth potential, with benefits including health and retirement plans, overtime opportunities, and in-house CDL ELDT training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License; CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months upon hire.
• Three years of experience in construction, landscaping, building maintenance, or related field.
• Sign making/line striping experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work in all weather conditions, and perform physically demanding labor.
• Familiarity with the operation of light and heavy-duty equipment.
• Strong work ethics and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and the general public.
• Successfully completing a Cori check and DOT pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
