Job summary

The City of Burlingame is seeking a part-time, temporary Engineering Technician II to support the Public Works Department/Engineering Division. Under supervision, you will perform para-professional office and field tasks, including surveying, drafting, and permit issuance.

Ideal candidate has a college-level engineering background and may possess an Engineering-in-Training certificate. Opportunities include traffic studies support and GIS-related work.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
• Experience in public works or engineering office preferred.
• Ability to read plans and draft in CAD.

Responsibilities

• Interact with the public to address inquiries.
• Prepare construction drawings in CAD.
• Assist Project Engineer with project documents and contracts.
• Process and issue permits.
• Perform public right-of-way inspections.
• Assist with traffic studies and data analysis.
