Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Public Works Engineering Intern to join our team in College Station, TX for Summer 2027. This internship provides exposure to planning, design, and construction of public works projects as part of a hands-on learning experience.

You will assist project engineers with basic plan details, drawings and calculations, support technical specifications, draft technical reports, and participate in field visits to collect data and observe tests.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Exposure to or familiarity with AutoCAD or similar engineering software is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with a team of professionals and independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing basic plan details, drawings, and calculations under the guidance of project engineers.

• May perform duties such as gathering and organizing data to provide information for departmental special projects or reports; assisting professional level employees on assignments; and other related duties as assigned.
• Assignments serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to the company’s organizational structure.
• Utilizes current company-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational goals.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

Work is generally conducted in a standard office administrative setting with limited exposure to physical hazards. This role involves minimal to moderate physical activity, including handling items weighing up to 20 pounds. It may require occasional standing or walking but primarily focuses on working at a keyboard, workstation, or desk.
