Job summary

University of California in Dowagiac is seeking an Adjunct – Instructor of Communications/Speech to deliver public speaking courses on the Dowagiac Campus. Classes meet 2:20 PM – 3:50 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays, in person, with a 3-hour weekly load per course.

The candidate will use a master syllabus and standardized curriculum, promote active learning, and engage a diverse student population while maintaining timely feedback and strong instructional technology skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Communications or English, or Master’s Degree with 18 credit hours of coursework in the content area.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Demonstrated use of instructional technology.

Responsibilities

• Promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods and relate to students.
• Prepare and deliver lessons using a master syllabus and standardized curriculum.
• Work with a diverse student population including dual-enrolled high school students, traditional college students, and nontraditional learners.
• Grade assignments and provide timely feedback to students.
