This tenure-track faculty position emphasizes assessment, collaboration, and building access to Spencer's strong archival collections for diverse users, including educators, researchers, and students.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited master's degree required by appointment.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience with staff and student workers.
• Experience delivering public-facing reference, research, or access services in archives or special collections.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners and donors.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees reference, access, instruction, outreach, exhibits, and public communications.
• Directs three staff members and a cohort of student assistants.
• Establishes goals, plans, and standards for public services and engagement.
• Coordinates instruction programs with KU instructors and Spencer collections.
• Uses assessment and feedback to improve public services operations.
