$51,500.80 - $63,169.60 Annually

An employee in the Public Service Worker I (Engineering Technician) classification in the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works performs duties related to the planning and project management of City projects including but not limited to road improvements, drainage improvements, bike paths, sidewalks, water mains, sanitary and storm sewers, telecommunications, parks, and other duties as assigned. An employee in this classification may be assigned overtime work as required, is subject to call-in outside normal working hours, performs other engineering functions as assigned, and may be assigned to different work assignments in emergency situations.
Written Test - 25% Interview - 75%
NOTE: A maximum of eight qualified applicants with the highest passing score on the written test will be invited to the interview part of the examination. Candidates must pass the written test and the interview in order to be placed on the eligible list. In the event there are three or less candidates who pass the Written Test, the interview panel will be waived, and the parts of examination and weights will be 100% Written Test.
NOTE: At the time of appointment, applicants are required to pass a pre-employment medical examination conducted by a physician authorized by the City of Livonia.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Appointees must satisfactorily complete a one-year probationary period before the appointment will be considered regular.
