Under general supervision, Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study in order to enhance their academic training. This role provides Help Desk support, offering a range of assistance to customers with technical needs and usage. While the position operates within a technology support environment, the core duties extend beyond technical troubleshooting and encompass service operations, administrative coordination, and organizational support functions that directly support academic pathways in Business, Management, Public Administration, Operations, Communications, and Information Systems.
Employment is not to exceed six months from the date of graduation.

Grade 27 Step 1, salary $46,207.44 prorated to reflect 30-hour work weeks is $34,655.58. In accordance with Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 284.170, initial appointments to classified positions typically begin at Step 1 of the assigned grade. A "Step" refers to the specific rate of pay within a grade, as determined by the Division of Human Resources. This is a 0.75 FTE position scheduled to work 30 hours per week. Eligibility for a merit salary increase is based on completion of one year of full-time-equivalent service. Accordingly, an employee who remains at 0.75 FTE will generally reach the required service threshold after approximately 16 months rather than 12 months. Merit increases remain subject to satisfactory performance and the rules governing pay progression.
