Job summary

Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking a Statewide Post Adoption Services Manager to oversee statewide post adoption services programs including Adoption Preservation, Respite, and MAC. The role requires administrative oversight, fiscal monitoring, and staff supervision to ensure quality services for adoptive families.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in social work or related field and have substantial administrative child welfare experience.

Qualifications

  • Requires a master's degree in social work or a related human services field from a recognized college or university.
  • Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW OR four years of progressively responsible administrative experience with a masters degree in a related human services field.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Statewide Post Adoption Services Manager.
  • Maintains ongoing fiscal, contractual, and programmatic monitoring of all Adoption Preservation, Respite, MAC programs, and other post adoption programs, including the Comprehensive Program Monitor Reviews for each fiscal year and other verification activities defined by Department policy.
  • Reviews and analyzes statistical reporting and other data collected on services provided through the Departments various post adoption programs.
  • Serves as full line supervisor.
  • Develops systems for the ongoing assessment of training needs relative to post adoption services.
  • Attends and provides input into various meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an
organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as
Statewide Post Adoption Services Manager. Under administrative
direction, this position will administer, direct, manage, and coordinate
statewide Post Adoption Services programs, including, but not limited to
Adoption Preservation, Respite, and Maintaining Adoption Connections
(MAC). Additionally, the position will conduct ongoing fiscal,
contractual, and programmatic monitoring of post adoption programs and
will supervise subordinate clerical staff. This position provides a
great opportunity for someone who is passionate about children and
interested in providing leadership of the Departments efforts to provide
