Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Up to one year of animal handling or veterinary technician experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Florida Euthanasia Technician Certification within one year.
• Florida Veterinary Medical Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarian in surgery; monitor anesthesia and vitals.
• Prepare animals for surgery and post-operative observations.
• Perform non-vet tasks: bandaging, dosing, wound care, prep for procedures.
• Administer controlled substances under supervision and collect samples as needed.
• Maintain medical and drug inventory and document medical records in system.
