Job summary

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking a Hiring Specialist to coordinate recruitment across the Department and serve as the HR liaison for the Facility Recruitment Team. This role requires independent judgment, strong attention to detail, and collaboration across program offices.

The ideal candidate will manage job postings, screening, scheduling, and data reporting while ensuring compliance with HR rules and processes.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is preferred and one year of HR or personnel experience.
• A master's degree can substitute for one year of experience.
• Two years of experience using Microsoft Office Suites.
• Two years of experience writing formal business communications, including emails.

Responsibilities

• Apply HR guiding principles to service delivery and support customers.
• Coordinate recruitment activities for the assigned Facility Recruitment Team.
• Serve as HR liaison; process documents and actions with HR (new hire packets, position descriptions, etc.).
• Monitor vacancies and manage internal movement; present filling plans to hiring managers.
• Distribute postings to Statewide Advertising; review applications and determine eligibility.
• Send pre-screening tests; assemble eligible candidate lists for interviews and tools.
• Assist with interview scheduling and panel coordination to ensure clear job requirements.
• Maintain internal databases (open positions, time to fill, applicant status).
• Participate in staffing projects and related duties as assigned.
