Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) seeks a Public Sector Leadership Training Manager in College Station, TX. The role oversees training schedules, program budgets, and coordination with host agencies and stakeholder schools to deliver high-quality leadership programs.

The position supervises a ¾ time Training Coordinator and a full-time Administrative Coordinator, with focus on curriculum development, instructional design, and program marketing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of related experience in training operations, program administration, or curriculum development.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Basic Firefighter Certification (Pro Board/IFSAC) – provide copies.
• Instructor 2 Certification (Pro Board/IFSAC) – provide copy of certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee training schedules and deliveries and manage program budgets.
• Coordinate with host agency points of contact and partners.
• Supervise staff including part-time and adjunct instructors.
• Ensure curriculum relevance and instructional quality in collaboration with instructional designers.

The Role at a Glance

The Public Sector Leadership Training Manager, under general supervision, manages training schedules and deliveries, works with host agency points of contact, manages program financials, assists with the TEEX Leadership Development Symposium and strategizes the marketing of training programs. The position supervises a ¾ time Training Coordinator and full-time Administrative Coordinator. The Training Coordinator, in turn, supervises the adjunct wage instructors responsible for delivery of classes. This role oversees the Fire Service Chief Executive Officer Program, a joint program which requires coordination with the Texas A&M Mays Business School Center for Executive Development Team, the Fire Service Development Program, a new program in development, and the Texas Fire Officer Program, a suite of NFPA standards based, Pro Board accredited certification courses. The position serves as a subject matter specialist for curriculum development and ensures students gain understanding, knowledge, and skills through effective instructional design and delivery in cooperation with agency instructional designers. This role ensures quality control of training programs, oversees curriculum relevance, and supports program fiscal viability while providing instructional leadership as needed.

This position reports to the Public Sector Program Director.

Qualifications of the Role

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Five years of related experience in training operations, program administration, or curriculum development.

• Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

• Basic Firefighter Certification (Texas Commission on Fire Protection Certification or reciprocity eligible Pro Board or IFSAC certifications for Texas Basic Firefighter Certification) – provide copies of certification.

• Instructor 2 Certification (Texas Commission on Fire Protection Certification or reciprocity eligible Pro Board or IFSAC certification for Texas Instructor 2 Certification) – provide copy of certification.

Equivalency: Will consider an Associate’s degree in applicable field from an accredited college or university with seven years of related experience (Listed Above) OR a High School Diploma/GED with nine years of related experience (Listed Above).
