Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an AI Deployment Engineer to partner with government agencies and drive GenAI adoption from prototype to production. You will serve as the technical thought partner, aligning with senior stakeholders to define the AI roadmap and deliver high-impact solutions using OpenAI APIs.

Based in Washington, DC, the role emphasizes hands-on prototyping, customer value acceleration, and collaboration with SI/implementation partners. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical consulting with public sector customers (U.S. federal civilian preferred).
• Experience leading GenAI or traditional ML implementations for government agencies.
• Effective and polished communicator who can translate business and technical topics.

Responsibilities

• Embed with public sector customers as the technical lead and ideate novel GenAI applications.
• Identify highest-value AI applications and build/qualify a comprehensive backlog for the AI roadmap.
• Lead hands-on prototypes or provide strategic guidance to accelerate time to value with partners.
