Job summary

The City of Menlo Park is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the Administrative Services finance team. The role oversees general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, close processes, and external audits, ensuring GAAP and GASB compliance for municipal reporting.

Strong supervisory and analytical skills are essential to provide reliable, timely financial statements and strategic fiscal recommendations.

Qualifications

• Experience with government or municipal accounting and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of internal controls and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, financial close, and related accounting operations.
• Direct preparation of financial statements and fiscal reports in accordance with GAAP and GASB.
• Coordinate annual financial statement preparation and external audits.
• Lead staff and provide training to accounting personnel.
• Develop and standardize procedures to improve accounting operations and internal controls.
• Provide complex financial analysis and management recommendations.
