Qualifications

• Thirty (30) semester hour credits equal one year of relevant experience.
• Nine (9) years of professional experience in accounting, budgeting, auditing, and financial reporting, with at least 5 years in supervision.
• Possession of a valid certificate as CPA, CMA, or Municipal Finance Officer issued by NJ authorities.
• Bachelor's degree with 21 accounting credits plus five years supervisory experience.
• Master's degree with 21 accounting credits plus four years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and directs financial management for a local government unit or agency.
• Supervises professional accounting tasks and prepares financial reports.
• Reviews and analyzes program finances and reports to management.
• Develops budget forecasts and fiscal policies to improve efficiency.
• Maintains accounting records and ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
• Provides guidance to staff and coordinates financial activities across departments.
