Job summary

The Assumption Parish Police Jury is seeking an Accountant/Auditor for the Administrative Office in Napoleonville. This full-time role handles Federal Programs budgets, parish budgeting, and fixed-asset tracking.

Ideal candidate has a college degree in accounting or related field and at least five years' governmental or general accounting experience with strong Excel skills; overtime may occur during audit season.

Qualifications

• College degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Business Management preferred, but five years of governmental or general accounting experience is required.
• Proficient in Excel with the ability to multi-task daily.
• Experience with federal, state and parish budgeting and audits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Federal Programs budgets and oversee parish budgeting.
• Maintain fixed asset listing and track purchases and disposals.
• Handle fiscal reporting for grants and federal programs.
• Record data in journals and ledgers across federal, state and parish programs.
• Prepare parish records for annual financial audit; overtime may be required Jan–Jun.
• Be available during disasters to assist the OHSEP Director; attend Police Jury meetings as needed.
