Job summary

HF&H Consultants, LLC is seeking an Assistant Analyst to join our Walnut Creek office on a hybrid schedule (in-office Tu/Th and occasional Fridays) with periodic client and site visits. The role emphasizes managing complex deliverables, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and progressively leading analyses and policy development for public agency projects.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office / O365 (SharePoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) with strong Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills (written, oral, interpersonal).
• Ability to manage assigned deliverables and deadlines with guidance.
• Travel to client sites and meetings as needed; valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support rate studies, budget development, cost analyses, and financial modeling efforts.
• Assist with developing and maintaining project workplans, schedules, budgets, trackers, and status reports for client engagements and special projects under Project Manager guidance.
• Collect, organize, validate, and analyze operational, financial, customer service, and program data with guidance from a Project Manager.
• Prepare spreadsheets, calculations, summaries, and supporting documentation communicating assumptions, findings, and recommendations.
• Assist with regulatory compliance monitoring, reporting requirements, performance measurement, and program tracking.
• Conduct research on industry trends, public agency practices, regulations, and emerging issues affecting clients.
• Assist with reports, memoranda, presentation materials, and Board or committee meeting packets.
• Participate in client meetings, workshops, and project team discussions; document key decisions and action items.
