Job summary

Hireology is seeking a Public Safety Technician – Automotive Electrical Specialist to install, diagnose, and repair advanced electrical systems in emergency vehicles such as police, fire, and EMS units. You'll work with Whelen lighting, siren, and control systems to meet agency specifications in a modern, well-equipped shop or field environment.

You will read wiring diagrams, use multimeters and manufacturer software tools, document all work, and stay current on Whelen products and safety

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in automotive electrical systems, including wiring, relays, and control modules.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Whelen products—installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail under tight deadlines.
  • A commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site in a shop or field environment.
