Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking a Public Safety compensation and classification specialist for project-based engagements, supporting municipal and county studies that include police, fire, EMS/paramedic, and related public-safety pay plans.

You will lead or co-lead sworn/public-safety portions of classification and compensation studies, peer selection for public-safety markets, rank/step analysis, specialty pay, FLSA public-safety considerations, and compression with civilian structures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years public-safety compensation, classification, or municipal HR work covering police and/or fire pay plans.
• Direct experience on at least one completed study or major pay-plan redesign involving sworn employees.
• Strong analytical and writing skills; ability to explain findings to non-HR leaders.
• Ability to cite concrete past government projects (agency, role, year).

This role pairs with civilian class/comp leads on mid-to-large city studies.
