Job summary

United Trading Group in Draper, Utah is seeking an Operations Specialist to manage the department’s radio and fleet program, focusing on mobile and portable police radios, vehicle equipment, and fleet inventory. You’ll ensure reliable communications and coordinate with state and local agencies.

The role requires hands-on RF work, equipment maintenance, and occasional travel within Utah, with on-site work in Draper. A comprehensive background check and drug test are required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with police radio systems and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Utah’s 700 MHz P25 network and VHF systems.
• Experience with installing and repairing police vehicle emergency equipment.

Responsibilities

• Emergency two-way radio programming, installation, repair, troubleshooting, deployment, inventory, and coordination of UDC’s 700 MHz & L3 Harris & Motorola radios and systems.
• Ensuring radio signal strength and functionality between all UDC staff, vehicles, and facilities.
• Provides technical hands-on assistance with agency radio communication systems and vehicle emergency equipment.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems; performs preventative maintenance across multiple disciplines.
• Fleet management: documentation, assignment, inventory, and coordination with vehicle fleet personnel.
• Coordinate vehicle upfitting and replacement.
• Basic evaluation, troubleshooting, and repair of emergency vehicle equipment.
• Emergency equipment research, procurement, inventory, and distribution; inspect used equipment for reuse.
