Job summary

Qualifications

• POST Basic Certificate or Basic Course Waiver required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned area to prevent crime and enforce traffic laws.
• Issue citations and make arrests as necessary; respond to calls for protection of life and property.
• Interview victims, complainants, witnesses, and suspects; collect, package, and preserve evidence; testify in court.
• Detect, pursue, apprehend, and arrest or detain persons involved in crimes; transport prisoners; serve warrants.
• Conduct preliminary or follow-up investigations; prepare reports on arrests and incidents.
• Direct traffic and/or manage crowd control during events or emergencies.
