Job summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College, part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, is seeking multiple Security Officers for the Downtown Campus. This 2nd shift position (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Monday–Friday) focuses on maintaining a safe, secure campus environment through regular patrols and reporting. A valid driver’s license and one year of security experience are required, with Microsoft Office knowledge preferred.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of Security or related work experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing visual inspections and patrols by foot, bike, and/or vehicle.
• Complete incident, accident, and injury reports as needed.
• Assist with campus crisis situations, evacuations, drills, and monitor parking facilities.

Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking multiple candidates for Security Officer positions in our fast-paced Campus Safety and Security Department located on the Downtown Campus. This is a 2nd shift position (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm), Monday through Friday.

Job Duties

Candidates will be responsible for providing on-going visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols, completing incident, accident and injury reports as needed and providing other security services in order to maintain a safe, secure campus environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors.

• Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed and monitors parking facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military).

Strong written and verbal skills are necessary.

Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications is preferred.
