Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of engineering training related to elevators.
• Eight years of experience in elevator construction, maintenance, and related devices.
• Preferred additional training and experience in inspection or supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, and related devices for code compliance.
• Witness acceptance tests and inspect new installations against plans.
• Investigate complaints, prepare notices of violations, and report findings.
• Appear in court as a witness and prepare inspection reports.
