Job summary

The City of Torrance is seeking an Ambulance Operator (EMT-1) to join the Torrance Fire Department. This full-time, non-safety, at-will position performs field procedures, documents vital signs, and supports firefighter/paramedics on emergency medical calls.

Requirements include a CA Class C driver’s license, EMT-1 certification, and CPR. Availability for a 48/96 schedule, irregular hours, weekends, and overtime is required.

Qualifications

• EMT-1 certification required to perform field procedures.
• CA Class C driver's license and CPR certification essential.
• Completion of high school or equivalent; Fire Academy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform EMT-1 level field procedures including vital signs, bandaging, splinting and assisting paramedics.
