Job summary

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing; working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; some knowledge of public safety principles and practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, handle stressful situations, and learn applicable laws, ordinances, and department rules.
• Must possess and maintain the ability to follow verbal and written instructions and provide excellent service to the public.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support such as filing, data entry, and processing reports or citations (non-sworn).
• Assist with traffic control at accident scenes, events, and crime scenes under supervision.
• Respond to non-emergency calls for service (e.g., vehicle lockouts, minor property damage).
• Pick up and deliver police documents, evidence, and interdepartmental mail.
• Maintain police vehicles, equipment inventory, and supplies.
• May assist in booking, fingerprinting, and photographing suspects.
