City and County of San Francisco is seeking a Street Inspector to perform inspections of streets, sidewalks, trench excavations, and repair projects to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal codes, permits, and plans. The role includes identifying nuisances and enforcing safety standards, including ADA adherence.

Under general supervision, you will read permits, prepare reports, and communicate with contractors, property owners, and city agencies.

Formación

• Three (3) years of experience in construction, code enforcement, or permit issuance related to public right‑of‑way.
• Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
• Substitution: City and County of San Francisco Street Inspector Trainee Program may substitute for the required experience.

Responsabilidades

• Inspects streets, sidewalks, trench excavations, and repair projects to ensure compliance with codes, permits, specifications, and plans.
• Inspects buildings and lots visible from public right of way for nuisances and safety issues.
• Reads and interprets permits, plans and specifications to ensure compliance with regulations.
