Job summary

Issues Management Group (IMG) in New York is seeking a post-grad intern to work across accounts and disciplines on a growing team. This internship offers hands-on experience in media relations, digital content, press materials, event support, and client interactions within a top public affairs firm.

The role is a full-time, 6-month internship with potential to become permanent. It operates on a hybrid schedule; interns must commute to the Midtown office three days a week and bring strong

Qualifications

• Available five days a week from 8:30AM - 5:30PM, Monday to Friday
• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related field required
• Prior communications internship experience, preferably in agency, campaign, or government setting
• Willing to travel to client sites within the Tri-State area
• Excellent writing skills
• General knowledge of the news media landscape
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
• Ability to communicate effectively while working remotely or in person
• Strong work ethic and proactive attitude
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Regularly monitor news outlets relevant to clientele and send coverage
• Provide administrative support to account teams (draft agendas, take notes, format documents, create memos, set up meetings)
• Gain experience in media relations (draft pitches, press releases, briefing books, media advisories, media lists)
• Draft social media content and blog posts as needed
• Conduct research to support client, sector, and firm initiatives
• Provide event support as needed
