Job summary

Capital Group seeks a Public Private Solutions Sales Specialist to drive business development for its PPS suite across Wealth Management channels. You will collaborate with WM Sales and product teams to deliver market education and portfolio construction guidance.

You will travel 2–3 days per week to support engagements, regional meetings, and national events, while synthesizing market data to inform sales strategies and update the PPS portfolio narrative.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Public Private Solutions Sales Specialist (West) at Capital Group

The Public Private Solutions (PPS) Sales Specialist is a client facing specialist role focused on business development efforts for Capital Group’s public private suite of products across Wealth Management (WM) channels. This position requires team collaboration across WM Sales and Capital Group product teams and will be responsible for delivering point of sale expertise in representing Capital Group PPS in the West to financial advisors and portfolio solution strategists. While responsibilities are varied, it is expected that the PPS Specialist will focus efforts in the following areas:

  • Ability to represent PPS in market with product education, capital markets updates across private markets, guidance on interval funds, and portfolio construction guidance.
  • Partner with WM Sales to identify, prioritize and schedule territory travel; gain an understanding of and prioritize the highest opportunity zones and coverage frequency within their geographic territory.
  • Actively participate as a PPS sales and investment resource for sales force members in their territories; the expectation is that the position will require a minimum of 2-3 days of weekly territory travel to support 1:1 engagements, regional meetings and national events.
  • Synthesize information from across Capital Group teams and external partners to create timely capital market, competitor, and portfolio construction updates targeted to the needs of the sales force members in territory.
  • Lead stakeholder management as partner and resource for product across Sales leadership teams including Regional Sales and Marketing to ensure our message is relevant to the market; participate in regular product leadership meetings.
  • Coordinate delivery of relevant information and data on Private Market trends and fund-specific competitive landscape; some writing and collaboration with PPS marketing required; business intelligence across divisions and SFM.
  • Work closely with the PPS Product team and WM Sales Leadership on the creation and/or deployment of the PPS Sales and Marketing plan.
  • Help build, deliver and maintain all training to external sales force members in Wealth Management.
What we’re looking for
  • You have at least 5+ years of professional experience in Sales or Specialist positions engaging with Financial advisors and business development professionals.
  • You have experience across private markets, an understanding of private market fund structures including interval funds, and experience marketing across Wealth Management channels.
  • You have experience in building sales narratives centered around portfolio construction guidance.
  • You have strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze opportunities/issues and to recommend business solutions.
  • You have strong organizational, relationship, communication and presentation skills.
  • You have a focus on achievements/outcomes and a drive to take initiative while demonstrating sound business judgment.
  • You have the ability to develop, prioritize and implement best practices.
  • You have a leadership style that is open, approachable, and informing.
  • You wholly embrace American Funds and Capital Group's investment philosophy.

Compensation & benefits
  • Base Range $180,000 - $282,500
  • In addition to a highly competitive base salary, you will receive two annual bonuses and a generous retirement contribution.
  • In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
  • Temporary positions in the United States are excluded from the above mentioned compensation and benefit plans.
