Job summary

City of Chicago is seeking a Policy Analyst in the Department of Planning and Development at City Hall to conduct research and analysis of community outreach strategies and intergovernmental engagement to support policy initiatives.

You will oversee communications strategies, prepare policy briefs and public information materials, and coordinate with Alderpersons and staff to advance city programs. Some evenings or events may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, Political Science, Political or Government Relations, Public Administration, the Social Sciences or a directly related field.
• Plus three years of work experience in community outreach and development, government relations, and writing for programs and services.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience provided that the minimum degree requirement is met.

Responsibilities

• Under general direction, conduct research and analysis of community outreach strategies and intergovernmental engagement opportunities to support policy initiatives.
• Oversee the development and execution of communications strategies, including public information materials and outreach efforts in collaboration with Alderpersons and their staff.
• Performs other related duties as required.
