Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Office of the Attorney General, seeks entry-level attorneys for the Stephanie Lovell Honors Fellowship Program 2027. The two-year fellowship begins Sep 2027 and includes training, rotations, and opportunity for continued employment within the Office.

Selected fellows will work across civil rights, health care, consumer protection, environmental protection, criminal prosecution, and more, with a focus on public service and professional development in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Academic and intellectual ability.
• Knowledge, experience, and ability in legal areas such as research, advocacy, trial preparation, discovery, investigation, negotiation, etc.
• Legal, professional, or personal experience related to the mission of the Attorney General’s Office.
• Demonstrated engagement and leadership in school and/or community activities.
• Strength of writing and editing skills and substantive experience with legal writing and editing through law school activities (e.g., law journal or equivalent) or internships.
• Commitment to the diverse communities the office serves.
• Flexibility and interest in a variety of legal subject areas.

Responsibilities

• Fellows generally complete three rotations through different areas of the office.
• Fellows will have the opportunity during their final rotation to seek continued employment with the Attorney General’s Office.
• Fellows receive training and guidance from experienced attorneys to enhance proficiency and develop skills.
• Through the Fellowship Program, new attorneys will launch their legal careers by enriching their legal experience, broadening their exposure to the public sector, and assuming substantial individual responsibility for their work.
