Job summary

The City of Tallahassee, in the Communications department, seeks a skilled communications professional to tell the story of city services, programs, and initiatives. You will develop engaging content, build relationships across City departments, and inform residents through strategic marketing, media relations, and public outreach.

Responsibilities include creating and publishing content for print, web, digital, and social media; coordinating media outreach; and supporting public information

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, English, social media, public administration, computer science, or related field.
• Two years of professional experience in public relations, public information, journalism, or social media; OR six years with a high school diploma.

• High School Diploma or GED; AND Six (6) years of professional experience in public relations, public information, journalism, or social media.

Necessary Special Requirements

• Valid Class E State of Florida driver\'s license (or equivalent) at the time hire.
