Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Graphic Designer to provide visual design support for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise construction projects and related agency initiatives. You will create clear, accessible graphics that communicate complex information for community outreach and project updates.

This role requires a strong portfolio, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to produce public-facing visuals that follow branding and accessibility guidelines across all project phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in visual design.
• Experience with a department of transportation or government entity.
• Portfolio demonstrating a range of design techniques and skills.
• Ability to work independently and with teams and demonstrate initiative.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and strong design sensibilities.
• PowerPoint and presentation development proficiency.
• Experience with web design, layouts, wireframes and storyboards.
• Knowledge of branding, 508/ADA standards and plain-language communication.

Responsibilities

• Create graphics, illustrations, diagrams and visual materials for construction outreach and public information efforts.
• Develop layouts for construction alerts, detour maps, public meeting boards, fact sheets, newsletters, mailers and social graphics.
• Prepare visuals supporting project phasing, lane closures and construction activities.
• Convert engineering information into public-friendly visuals.
• Support all project phases and communications.
• Produce graphics for digital platforms, signage and internal communications.
• Ensure materials follow branding and plain-language standards.
• Respond to design requests from multiple corridors and offices.
• Manage concurrent tasks and deadlines with quality and consistency.
• Participate in project meetings to understand design requirements.
• Prepare files for print and digital distribution.
• Maintain organized project files and design assets.
• Ensure ADA-friendly formatting and distribution-ready materials.
• Conduct quality reviews of project data, maps and construction information.
• Apply strong visual communication and adaptable design approaches.
