Job summary

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services seeks a Substance Use Prevention Educator III to join the SUP Team in Augusta. The role focuses on opioid and stimulant misuse prevention, providing technical assistance and training to state and community partners.

You will oversee grants, coordinate with multiple agencies, and contribute to the Prevention Strategic Plan. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in public health/education and at least two years in prevention or related fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health or health education with two years' related experience.
• Experience in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Grant, contract, and budget management experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for opioids, stimulants, and emerging substance use trends.
• Collaborate with state offices and local partners to strengthen prevention efforts.
• Develop health education resources and provide training to partners.
• Lead grant lifecycle activities including research, proposal development, budgeting, submission, and post-award reporting.
