Job summary

The US Indian Health Service Chinle Service Unit seeks a Nursing Director to develop goals, policies, and nursing standards for the public health nursing program in alignment with the Public Health Nursing Program.

The incumbent will report to the Director of Public Health and must meet the basic nursing education and licensure requirements, including supervising staff and coordinating community partnerships to improve population health outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 in the Federal service.
• Experience supervising professional nursing and support staff.
• Experience planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating public health nursing services.

Responsibilities

• Develop goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the nursing program.
• Supervise professional nursing and support staff, including assignment and evaluation.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary partnerships to improve continuity of care.
• Provide clinical leadership and guidance in evidence-based nursing interventions.
• Monitor program quality, performance measures, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop policies, procedures, reports, and resource plans.
