Job summary

County of Tulare Health & Human Services Agency is recruiting a Public Health Nurse I/II to develop, implement, and interpret policies and procedures, analyze information, assess health statuses, and recommend actions. These PHNs focus on prevention, early intervention, communicable disease, case management, and health education, serving in homes, clinics, schools, and via liaison with other agencies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing; California State Public Health Nursing certificate; RN license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
Level II candidates must have two years of community nursing experience.
Title 42 CFR 432.50(d) applies to positions with Child Welfare.

Responsibilities

Educate and counsel individuals, families, and groups regarding specific diseases or health conditions as well as health maintenance, promotion, and rehabilitation.
Assist individuals and families with recognizing health problems and obtaining appropriate care.
Provide nursing services to individuals in homes and demonstrate nursing care techniques to persons who will give care.
Teach and counsel individuals, families, and groups regarding specific diseases or health conditions and public health techniques.
Assist in the development and planning of public health programs.
